Welcome to the department of Entomology. It is a renowned and outstanding department in the faculty of Agriculture, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU), Dinajpur, committed to advancing excellence teaching and research in arthropods for both basic and applied contexts. We offer courses for the degree of B. Sc. Ag. (Hons.), MS and PhD in Entomology. In each semester the department teaches a number of courses requirement in the current University Studies Program. The department provides excellent research facilities of laboratory works and in the research field. Our 10 faculty members (8 Professor, 1 Assistant Professor and 1 Lecturer) approach a dynamic teaching environment preparing the students for a future in entomology and do research in all aspects of entomology related to insect biology, behavior ecology, acarology, industrial entomology, insecticides toxicology, integrated pest management, and outreach agriculture, and are published scientific papers in high ranking journals. The students of the department are taught the cutting edge of bioscience like genetic engineering of insects and their industrial uses, and applied tools like modeling for ecosystem management.
