PROJECTS

  1. Soil Health Management Practices in Old Himalayan Piedmont Plain Agroecological Zone: Assessment of Knowledge and Utilization at Farmers’ Level

    Funded by: IRT, HSTU

    Position: Principal Investigator

Description: Soil is a key element of agriculture without which wouldn’t be able to grow plants. Healthy soil is the foundation for profitable, productive, and environmentally sound agricultural systems. Ecological balance and soil fertility can only be restored through effective utilization of environment friendly practices. Appreciable utilization of alternative soil health management practices has still not been achieved as there is a wide gap existing between recommended soil health practices and its implementation in farmers’ field. Therefore, the proposed research study is going to be taken to assess the knowledge level of the farmers on soil health management practices and determine the extent of utilization of the soil health management practices among the farmers’ level. The proposed project expected that farmers consciousness regarding soil health management issues will be arouse and will be designed new policy for improved soil health management practices at farmers’ level and conserved soil ecosystem.
