PROJECTS
- Effect of Different Fruit Bagging Materials on Production of Quality and Safe Mango
Funded by: NATP-2, BARC
Position: Co-Principal Investigator
Description: The aim of this study is for safe mango production with minimum pesticides application with control mango pests and diseases as well as to improve the fruit quality of mango through bagging technology. The experiment was constructed in Randomized Block Design with five treatments replicated three times. This research was conducted at 5 different mango orchards. The five mango orchards were selected and made an agreement with the respective owner of the orchard. The bagging materials, pesticides and fungicides were purchased to conduct the experiment. The mango orchards were bagged at marble stage (35, 45 and 55 days after fruit set) with different types of bags which constituted the various treatments viz: T1: White paper single layered bag (like butter bag); T2: Brown paper single layered bag; T3: Brown paper double layered bag; T4: Perforated polythene bag and T0: Control (no bagging). At the ripening stage, the mangoes were harvested and the samples were collected randomly for the physico-chemical analysis in the laboratory.
